Summary:
Marilyn was living a great life until her life started hitting a downfall. She was truly in love with Joe DiMaggio but Marilyn's life became a problem in their marriage, she became famous and many guys just wanted to have sex with her. After dealing through all of these problems, Marilyn and DiMaggio decided to get a divorce on October 27, 1954, while remaining intimate friends. Latter on in 1959, Marilyn won a Golden Globe for best actress in a comedy. Marilyn also came by the decision of finally marrying and settling down with Arthur Miller, a playwright that helped Marilyn through achieving success in her acting career. During the time period in which they were married, Arthur made films especially for Marilyn. However, on January 20, 1961 their marriage ended. Marilyn didn't have long marriages with Arthur or Joe but for the time she was with them she seemed happy.
Quote:
"Marilyn's relationship with Arthur changed when his wife found out about the love affair" (Leaming 189).
Response:
Marilyn actually started seeing Arthur in secret but as soon as his wife found out everything changed. Mary, Arthur's wife kicked him out and he became closer to Marilyn as a result. Arthur showed support towards Marilyn that was very special to Marilyn leading her to fall for him. After some time, they became official and Marilyn decided to marry him. The women who barely ever wanted to settle down for a person actually married twice. You can tell how people influenced her life in good and bad ways. Such that she became more serious but was also more depressive at times because of her fear to be neglected.
